Sarah and Mike’s story began at a Halloween haunted house in Portland, Oregon. Sarah was working as a zombie bride, tasked with jumping out to scare visitors. Mike, dragged along by friends, wasn’t particularly brave when it came to haunted attractions. When Sarah leaped from her hiding spot, Mike let out a yelp so genuine and hilarious that she broke character and started laughing.
“I couldn’t help it,” Sarah recalls. “His scream was adorable, and when I apologized for breaking the spell, he asked if I’d like to grab coffee after my shift to make up for the heart attack I’d given him.”
That coffee date turned into a relationship, and three years later, they got married on Halloween. Their wedding photos feature them in vintage Halloween costumes, surrounded by autumn leaves and carved pumpkins. “We joke that our relationship started with death and fear, but it’s been nothing but life and love ever since,” Mike says with a grin.
A Costume Party Connection
Jessica had sworn off dating apps after a string of disappointing matches. Her friend convinced her to attend a Halloween costume party, promising it would be a fun distraction. Jessica dressed as Morticia Addams, complete with a flowing black dress and pale makeup.
Across the room, David had arrived as Gomez Addams. They spotted each other simultaneously, and the coincidence was too perfect to ignore. David walked over and, channeling his character, kissed Jessica’s hand dramatically. “Cara mia,” he said in his best Gomez impression.

The Ghost Tour Romance
Amanda signed up for a ghost tour in Savannah, Georgia, hoping to learn about the city’s haunted history. She didn’t expect to meet Tom, the tour guide whose passion for local legends was contagious.
