Kelleher International had the privilege of being featured on the NewsHour with Jim Lehrer.

The featured subject was discussing on-line dating and matchmaking. Kelleher International was able to discuss their approach in this field and how they differ greatly from the on-line internet dating services.

“The right matchmaker can help you find someone who is a good fit for you, especially if you are marriage-minded,” explained Jill Kelleher, President of Kelleher International. “An on-line dating service can provide you with a plethora of people who have listed themselves as ‘available’ to date but are they serious about finding a long term relationship? Can one trust that everyone is telling the truth about themselves and are these individuals searching for someone with the right intentions?”

Time and time again Kelleher has listened to the stories and the complaints from their clients who have tried internet dating and how they have become disenchanted with the services due to high levels of misrepresentation. “It is a known fact that people do misrepresent themselves. There are a lot of married people online representing themselves as single, they fib about their age, height, weight, looks, and income,” Kelleher explained. However, Kelleher continued by stating that she wasn’t putting the services down entirely. She still believes that the majority of people on-line may be honest about who they are and what they are looking for.

When asked if the matchmaking business has lost it’s appeal because of the insurgence of available internet sites for singles, Kelleher stated that in certain ways the internet has helped them. She explained, “if someone has tried internet dating and has gone out on 20/30 dates, they pretty much know exactly what type of person they are looking for, which assists us in defining their criteria.
